Founded in 1913 by the Science Teachers’ Bureau, the Boston Children’s Museum is the second oldest children’s museum in the world and one of the few that maintain a collection. Designed for both children and families, the Museum exhibits focus on science, culture, environmental awareness, health & fitness, and the arts, emphasizing hands-on engagement and learning through experience, and employing play as a tool to spark the inherent creativity, curiosity, and imagination of children.

Pass Benefits

Pass admits up to 4 visitors at half-price admission. General admission rates are $22.00 per person. Infants under one year old are free.

Online timed-tickets must be purchased in advance at the Children's Museum website . Be sure to reserve Half Price Library Timed Tickets under the Discount Tickets section. Upon arrival at the museum, you will have to show your tickets and library pass for admission. The date on the pass must match the date of your visit.

You may print the attached pass at home, display it on your smartphone, or pick up a printed copy at the library.

Strawbery Banke Museum is located in the South End Historic District of Portsmouth, NH, on a 10-acre campus that features more than 37 restored buildings built between the 17th and 19th centuries. Visitors may visit the historic buildings, some with staff in period dress engaged in traditional crafts such as boat-building, coopering, and wood-working; enjoy interactive exhibits about the history of the neighborhood and its preservation; and stroll and appreciate the heritage gardens and orchards, various heirloom breeds, and beehives. Themed centers provide different pathways for understanding the history. A museum store and a couple of restaurants are on the premises.

“Strawbery Banke Museum passes are supported entirely by a grant from the Newbury Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.”

The Strawbery Banke Museum Library pass admits up to (2) two adults at no cost per person, and up to (4) four children under the age of 17 at no cost per person. This is an ePass that can either be presented on a mobile device or as a print-out to receive the discounted admission rate.

Benefits are as followed:

Free museum admission for up to 2 families per day from May 1 through October 31

Free admission for up to 4 individuals to Baby Animals: Heritage Breeds at the Banke, Ghosts on the Banke, and Candlelight Stroll (excludes the Member Preview Night)

50% discount on admission to Labrie Family Skate at Puddle Dock Pond (November-March)

10% off purchases at Pickwick's at the Banke (Museum gift shop) and merchandise in the Lawrence J. Yerdon Visitors Center.
