Founded in 1913 by the Science Teachers’ Bureau, the Boston Children’s Museum is the second oldest children’s museum in the world and one of the few that maintain a collection. Designed for both children and families, the Museum exhibits focus on science, culture, environmental awareness, health & fitness, and the arts, emphasizing hands-on engagement and learning through experience, and employing play as a tool to spark the inherent creativity, curiosity, and imagination of children.

Pass admits up to 4 visitors at half-price admission. General admission rates are $20.00 per person. Infants under one year old are free.
Online timed-tickets must be purchased in advance at the Children’s Museum website. Be sure to reserve “Half Price Library Timed Tickets” under the “Discount Programs” section at www.bostonchildrensmuseum.org/ticketing. Upon arrival at the museum, you will have to show your tickets and library pass for admission. The date on the pass must match the date of your visit.
You may print the attached pass at home, display it on your smartphone, or pick up a printed copy at the library.

The Museum of Science in Boston is located on a piece of land that extends the width of the Charles River, connecting Boston and Cambridge. New England Aquarium

The New England Aquarium is home to thousands of aquatic animals, from the giant Pacific octopus to Northern fur seals to little blue penguins. They offer a wide range of exhibits, including a shark and ray touch tank and the Giant Ocean Tank, a four-story coral reef featuring hundreds of Caribbean animals. In addition, they have an IMAX theatre and run whale watch boat excursions in partnership with Boston Harbor Cruises from April through November.

To use Library discount, reserve the pass for the day you want to visit the Aquarium and print your library coupon. Or you may request us to print it for you, and then pick up your coupon at the NTL. You may pick up the pass up to seven days before your visit. Then, call the Aquarium reservations line at 617-973-5206 to make your timed appointment. Please note that the Library pass does not guarantee you a timed appointment on the date of your reservation.
Pass admits up to 4 people of any age at 50% off regular admission per person. Children under the age of 3 are not included in the admission count and are always admitted free. Library passes may not be used in conjunction with school or group visits, nor be applied towards Aquarium programs, IMAX tickets, Whale Watch tickets, or combination tickets.
The City of Boston’s new vaccination mandate goes into effect at the New England Aquarium this weekend, Saturday, January 15.
Per the mandate, proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to enter the Aquarium, as follows:
Saturday, January 15: People 12 years of age and older must show proof of one dose of vaccine.
Tuesday, February 15: People 12 years of age and older must show proof of full vaccination.
Tuesday, March 1: Children aged 5 to 11 must show proof of one dose of vaccine.
Sunday, May 1: People 5 years of age and older must show proof of full vaccination.
The following proof of vaccination is accepted:
A CDC vaccination card
A digital image of a CDC vaccination card
An image or printout of any official immunization record
Any COVID vaccine verification app
Proof of vaccination will be confirmed on-site as follows:
Library pass holders will continue to go to the Box Office when they arrive on-site to purchase Aquarium tickets. At the Box Office, they will be asked to provide proof of vaccination prior to completing their purchases.
Any guests with medical or religious exemptions will receive a reasonable accommodation, as defined by the City mandate. If your patrons have a medical or religious exemption, please ask them to review the mandate and email reservations@neaq.org prior to visiting.
If, for any reason, library patrons are unable to provide proof of vaccination, they should email reservations@neaq.org or call the Reservation Department at 617-973-5206 prior to visiting.
