Yoga for Back Care

Sitting in on Zoom meetings all day? Experiencing back pain? Studies show back pain responds well to yoga. Discover ways to prevent and manage back pain using gentle yoga to improve core strength and posture. Focus on practicing postures in a way that enhances the health of the back and spine. Learn to alleviate tension in the back, body, reduce neck/back pain, and lengthen and decompress the spine. This class is designed for those new to yoga as well as seasoned practitioners.

BIO: Chris Howe is a registered RYT-500 Yoga Teacher trained in Classical Hatha Yoga. As an adolescent, she was constantly active either running or playing any sport involving a ball. She took sporadic yoga classes, but truly embraced yoga practice and philosophy while recovering from spinal surgery. She enjoys sharing her journey back to wholeness through gentle movement, mindfulness, and much humor. In addition to teaching yoga, she is a consultant and technical coach serving both commercial and non-profit organizations

She enjoys working with students new to yoga, seniors, and anyone who is recovering from physical injury. Chris has completed advanced education including Teaching Yoga to Seniors thru Duke Integrative Medicine, Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery thru the Veterans Yoga Project, Level 1 Restorative Yoga with Jillian Pransky, as well as Adaptive Yoga Foundation with Mind Body Solutions.

Chris currently is working towards her Yoga Therapist certification. She resides on the Massachusetts seacoast with her husband and her dog Kane and enjoys spending time exploring the outdoors and incorporating yoga principles of gratitude and mindfulness into her daily life.
