Join us for our 2022 Summer Reading Kick-Off! The Newbury Town Library is following the national Summer Reading theme of "Read Beyond the Beaten Path." We'll be in keeping with the theme as we gather on the back lawn for some fun and funny camp fire songs with Julie Stepanek. She'll even give you a ukulele lesson!

Julie Stepanek is a singer, songwriter and musician. Originally from Nebraska, she now makes her home in a pine forest in western Massachusetts and for the last 15 years has been teaching and making music at libraries, schools and senior centers throughout New England.

We will be handing out Summer Reading packets at this event. Packets feature Summer Reading resources for kids and caregivers, bookmarks, a museum voucher, and Read and Bead logs. We are so excited for another summer of our popular Read and Bead! You will track your reading in 20-minute increments. There is an easy sheet with stickers to track your progress. When you have completed your sheet, bring it to the NTL and we will trade it for beads. Each bead = 20 minutes of reading. How many necklaces can you make this summer?

**This will be an outdoor event to allow everyone to attend! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, yoga mats, whatever to sit on!**

** If it is bad weather this event will be cancelled**

**NTL June 2022 Kids Newsletter said that event would be starting at 4:30p.m, but event will actually be starting at 4:45p.m.**
