Deadline extended!
SUBMISSIONS DUE BY APRIL 23
ALL AGES:
Did you know that early spring is the time of year you can find salamanders in Massachusetts? Salamanders look like lizards, but actually they are very different. They like cool, moist places while lizards like it hot and dry. Their skin is similar to a frog's. You can find them under rocks and logs in the woods, sometimes hiding in fallen leaves by streams and vernal pools.
We're celebrating salamanders with our May/June StoryWalk story, The Salamander Room, by Anne Mazer. We would love to include your artwork on display in some of our StoryWalk stations!
Please submit artwork that is about 5" x 10" (vertical or horizontal) of your salamander to be put on display. Salamanders should be cut out, and artwork can be anything as long as it's 2 dimensional. For example, crayons, sketches, painting, markers, decoupage, stickers, glitter, in any combination, are wonderful! Draw your own, or print one here (or pick up a copy at the library)! http://newburylibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/salamander_printable.pdf
The deadline to submit artwork is Saturday, April 17th. Please include your name and email with your artwork, and let us know if you'd like your first name and last initial displayed with your artwork. You can drop it by curbside - just call us (978-465-0539) to let us know it's on the pickup table. Or pop it in the DVD Returns Bin on the side of the building, beside the book drop.
