Do you like to solve puzzles and brain teasers? Are you a local Newbury resident who is interested in learning a little bit more about Newbury’s unique history? Have you ever been accused of witchcraft while living in a 17th-century Puritan New England town? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the Newbury Town Library has the perfect opportunity for you! We are excited to announce the arrival of our very own Local History Escape Room! This adult activity is filled with puzzles and riddles based on local Newbury history. Think of it as an escape room meets scavenger hunt.The theme of the escape room centers around Newbury’s only documented case of witchcraft in the 17th century, but your escape will take you through various different periods of Newbury’s long history. This is a great way to learn fascinating things about Newbury while also having fun with family and friends.

This event is outdoors and will be canceled in the event of rain.

Be prepared for minor physical movements, including bending down and walking up small hills.
