Felted Soap Workshop & Fundraiser ($25pp)

Thursday, February 216:00—7:30 PMThe Lois M. Anderson Community RoomThe Newbury Town Library0 Lunt St. , Byfield, MA, 01922

The Friends of the Newbury Town Library are hosting a Felted Soap Workshop as a fundraiser for the Library. Our own Library Associate, Pauline Fabiano, will be our instructor.

Learn how to make felted wool soap (soap and washcloth all in one). In addition to being pretty they are also very practical. Felting the soap creates a natural no slip bar that also gently exfoliates as you use it. Each bar is colorful, unique, and long lasting. Plus they are environmentally friendly. When you are done with the bar of soap, you will be left with a small wool "scrub pad." You can continue to use your wool scrubbie as a sponge, the wool can also be composted, or it can be cut up and put outside for the birds.

In this class you will learn how to wet felt a bar of soap using colorful wool roving. You will also be given to opportunity to learn the basics of needle felting on a second bar of soap. These make great gifts or are nice to keep for yourself.

COST IS $25 PER PERSON: To secure your spot, payment is due prior to the event in cash or check and may be mailed or dropped off to the Library - Proceeds go to the Friends of the Newbury Town Library, who fund the Library's programs.

If you have a favorite brand of soap, please bring two bars with you. Otherwise, soap will be provided. If you have any questions, email us at friendsofnewburytownlibrary@gmail.com
